Henley-on-Thames, England - June 29, 2006: Harvard University knocked
out USC’s heavyweight men’s eight in the first round of
the Ladies Challenge Plate event of Henley Royal Regatta on the River
Thames today.
Following in the official umpire launch were USC crew patron the Rt.
Hon. Robert Hanson and USC alumnus and television sportscaster William
Creasy.

Four American universities raced for the Ladies Plate in a field of
nine crews that included four British entries as well as a crew from
Germany: Princeton knocked out Stanford in the semi-final round and
won the event against an English composite line-up from Leander &
Molesey Boat Club on the final day of racing.

A large well-dressed crowd thronged the banks of the Thames and small
water-crafted dotted the racecourse enjoying a rare English summer heat
wave.

Representing the University of Southern California in England were coxswain
Emily Chin, stroke Bryan Barrett, Lee McAuliffe, Jeffrey Clark, Michael
Reynaud, Joseph Richards, Kevin Lorell, Adam Fish, Sterling Brisbin
and coach Gene Kininmonth.
