The Trojan Navy is set to take on cross-town rival
UCLA in San Pedro on Sunday, March 28. USC’s
varsity eight-man crew has dominated the Bruins
recently, maintaining a seven consecutive
race-winning streak.

USC Captain Blair Jones, a 6’8” member of USC’s
national championship football team and 5-seat of
the varsity boat, is confident that his heavyweight
crew will continue the winning streak. “There is only
one goal and that is to crush them,” said Jones. “We
are really disgusted with some of their recent actions
and we have a number of scores to settle. We plan to settle things with one massive pounding on the water this weekend.”

Crew stroke, Danny Friedman 6’5”, added that the crew is also looking to bounce back from unsatisfying results last weekend in Northern California against Stanford and the University of British Columbia. “Last weekend we had a lot of factors working against us,” said Friedman. “We were undermanned and completely worn out after a week of training seven hours a day in Sacramento. Ian Topic (6’3” port) is now back onboard and we have fresh legs. We are boat-lengths faster.”
