May 1, 2004: San Pedro, CA: The Trojan Navy celebrated the conclusion of the regular season with The Oarsman’s Banquet held at the Ports O’ Call restaurant in San Pedro on Saturday evening. Eighty-five alums, parents and Friends joined the Crew for a three-course meal overlooking the Port of Los Angeles.

Following welcoming comments by team captain Blair Jones, Emily Chin then recited Ode to the Trojan Navy, a poem she wrote to capture the spirit of the evening.

Crew Board Chairman, Jack Schumacher ’54, gave the annual State of the Crew address, acknowledging the achievements of the year as well as thanking many alumni for their support of the Crew.

Henry Brown ‘92 then invited alumni and parents to join him in charging their glasses to toast the Crew. Team Captain Blair Jones then gave a response on behalf of the Crew and the oarsmen shouted ‘three cheers’ to the alumni.
