An ardent Trojan fan, Henry Brown never rowed for USC. However, when this local Marina del Rey resident overheard that the crew desperately needed a replacement engine for its coaching launch in the first week of school, Henry stepped up and purchased a brand new motor for the team on his credit card. Henry earned both his Bachelors degree and MBA from Troy and his parents are also long-time supporters of the University. Email Henry Brown

AC duPont ‘74, a former captain and coach of the Trojan Navy, now heads up the Long Beach Rowing Club. A consummate supporter of the Trojan Navy, AC drove his boat trailer across the country on two occasions this Fall to pick up a shell from Georgetown University and a new coaches launch from Boston. Setting a high standard for alumni support, AC has also donated $500 toward a stipend payment for the freshman coach Brooks Jones. “The frosh coaches at the big PAC 10 schools are now all making around $40,000 a year and I remember too well just how hard it is coaching for free,” said AC. “Anything we can do to keep talented young coaches in our program is money well spent,” said AC.
