On Janurary 24th, the USC Men’s Crew dominated the competition at the Long Beach Indoor Sprints. All competing members of the squad gave full effort and represented our motto of POWER, POISE, and PRIDE. In the Collegiate Men’s event, Kellen Proctor took 1st place with a staggering 6:08 minute 2k. Ryan Hasvold took an impressive second place with 6:20, Trent Oliver came in 4th with a personal record of 6:30, and Buck Scalese came in 8th with a strong 6:38. In the Open Men’s competition USC was the clear victor with Jeff Nelson (6:45) taking 2nd, Steven Kent (6:49) 3rd, Harrison Taylor (6:50) 4th, Chris Fisher (6:55) 5th, and Daniel Del Torre (7:14) 9th. Congratulations to Novices Melvin Ardjanto (7:14) and Zack Kobos (7:19), Quentin Smith (7:21.7) who pulled their very first 2k, and to Michael Hintlian (6:53) who took 4th in the collegiate Novice Men’s category. This indoor regatta was a good showing of our squad’s speed, especially the top Varsity rowers.
